The San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) is the largest inpatient medical facility for the Department of Defense. The project is comprised of a new, 764,000 square-foot medical tower with helipad, a 358,000 square-foot renovation to the existing Brooke Army Medical Center, a 1.7 million square-foot parking facility.

This certified Level I Trauma Center has 425 inpatient beds (including 116 intensive care unit beds), 32 operating rooms, numerous specialty clinics and a bone marrow and organ transplant unit. In addition, 40 beds are dedicated to the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research, which operates the only Department of Defense Burn Center.

Texas Air Products was a major contributor to the SAMMC project, providing Loren Cook ventilation fans, Titus air distribution devices, Ruskin life safety systems; VibroAcoustics sound attenuation, Mason vibration isolation products, and Camfil filtration systems. The construction lasted for several years, was one of the largest projects built in San Antonio history and one of the largest for Texas Air Products.
